Breaking Through: Supporting the Next Generation of Musicians
October 2026 | News & Updates
At Amped, some of the most rewarding work we do happens away from the spotlight, helping young musicians develop their skills, discover opportunities and build the confidence to take their next steps.
Over recent months, we've had the privilege of working with a number of talented young people through our Breakthrough Artist Development activities, offering practical support, guidance and opportunities tailored to their individual ambitions.
For some, that's meant developing their songwriting skills, exploring new creative ideas or finding other musicians to collaborate with. For others, it's been about preparing for live performances, building confidence on stage or accessing opportunities they might not otherwise have known about.
What connects all of this work is a simple belief: talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn't.
Creating Opportunities That Matter
One of the things we've learned through working with young musicians is that sometimes the biggest difference comes from relatively small interventions.
Just last night, we supported a young drummer preparing an audition for a prestigious university music programme.
By helping them access a suitable space, set up their equipment and professionally record an audition video, we were able to help remove some of the practical barriers standing between them and an important opportunity.
It's a brilliant example of what Amped is trying to achieve. Not every young musician has access to rehearsal facilities, recording equipment, industry contacts or the practical guidance needed to take their next step.
Sometimes, simply having someone who can help make things happen is invaluable.
More Than Music Lessons
Our approach to artist development goes beyond traditional music tuition.
We're interested in the whole journey of a young musician, from picking up an instrument and writing their first song to performing in front of an audience, recording original material or exploring further education and careers in music.
That might mean offering encouragement, sharing our experience, making introductions, finding a space to rehearse or helping someone navigate an unfamiliar opportunity.
We don't believe there's a single pathway into music, and our role isn't to decide what success should look like for someone else. It's to help young people explore their own ambitions and give them the tools, confidence and connections to pursue them.
Looking Ahead
As Amped continues to grow, developing these pathways for young musicians will remain at the heart of what we do.
We're incredibly proud of the young people we've worked with so far, not just for their musical abilities, but for their creativity, commitment and willingness to put themselves forward.
Whether their next step is a first gig, a new original song, a recording session or a university audition, we're excited to play a small part in helping them get there.
Because sometimes all that's needed is a little support, the right opportunity and someone willing to open a door.
Building confidence and creativity through music.
