The Amped Instrument & Gear Library
Not everyone has access to good-quality music equipment — and that shouldn’t be the thing that holds anyone back. The Amped Instrument & Gear Library is our way of making music more accessible for the whole community.
We collect donated instruments, amps, pedals and sound gear, refurbish what needs attention, and make them available for lessons, workshops, rehearsals and loan schemes. Every piece of equipment helps remove a barrier for someone starting out, returning to music, or trying something new.
If you’ve got an instrument gathering dust or a bit of gear you’re no longer using, donating it can make a real difference to a musician in Berwick. It keeps equipment in circulation, supports learning, and strengthens the creative community we’re building together.
Any items we have ready for community use will be listed below, this page will be updated regularly as new items are added and refurbished.
Guitar and Bass
Swift Electro-Acoustic Bass
These basses are known for being affordable, beginner-friendly instruments. They often deliver surprisingly decent tone for the price, though quality control can vary, so occasional tweaks — like light fret dressing or minor bridge adjustments — can help them play at their best.
Epiphone Les Paul Jr. 57 Re-issue
Lindo Dark Defender
The Epiphone '57 Les Paul Junior Reissue is a budget-friendly tribute to the minimalist 1950s classic, featuring a solid mahogany body, a chunky '50s-style neck, and a single P-90-style pickup (often a hum-canceling P-100) for raw, powerful rock tones, complete with simple Volume & Tone controls, making it a solid, no-frills guitar for blues, punk, and classic rock with great value
Epiphone DR-212 Acoustic 12 string
Cutting-edge, semi-acoustic/hollow-body electric guitar, designed in the uk
All-over matt black finish on body front and back, neck and headstock which gives a very sleek appearance
Unique f-hole with cream purfling/binding which is continued on the body and fingerboard
Soapbar' pickups with 3-way selector switch and 1 x volume, 1 x tone knobs (finished in chrome). die-cast tuning pegs for reliable and accurate tuning
Epiphone DR-212 12-String, natural finish, made in China 2014. This is a nice little 12-string. The design includes some heftier bracing for the top and a chunky bridge that easily carries the extra tension of 12-strings, so this is a bit better thought out than some of the other basic 12s out there. The neck is a little wider than some other 12s, which allows for more accurate left hand fretting and generally feels good. The tone is shimmering and bright with a nice understated rounded low end. If you've got a hole in your heart for a 12 but don't want to blow a fortune, this will do the job nicely.
