Take what you’ve learned to the stage. Amped gives musicians the chance to perform live at community gigs, showcases, and the annual Amped Festival — a celebration of local talent run by young people for young people. It’s your space to grow as a performer and gain the buzz of real audiences.
Join a growing network of musicians, venues, and mentors shaping Berwick’s creative future. Members get priority access to workshops, collaborations, and events — plus free monthly “Ask Amped” sessions offering career guidance, gear advice, and music opportunities.

“In his capacity as a music teacher at Berwick Academy, Darren assisted me hugely on a six-year music project, Inspired, which put over 150 local young people through a programme of composition, production, and performance. He was instrumental — excuse the pun — in helping me get the project off the ground and has been a constant source of encouragement and support to musicians of all ages and backgrounds.
Darren is widely considered a lynchpin in the creative arts in Berwick. The town is currently severely under-resourced in facilities and spaces for people to learn, rehearse, create, record, and perform music. Amped holds the promise of making music more accessible and available to many in the community who would otherwise find it almost impossible.
I have absolutely no doubt that Darren has the skills, experience, and vision to bring a project like this to fruition.”
